New Playgroups
We are very excited to announce that we have a new Central/Foothills all ages playgroup starting up. Meeting time still TBD, the group is being led by volunteer Nadya Novak. Welcome! To be added to this list please email us at centralallages@tucsonmoms.com.
We are also in the process of setting up a East ’11/’12 group. If you would like to be added to the list please email us at east2011@tucsonmoms.com.
Committee News
Social Committee
The Social Committee is busy gearing up for the new year and planning lots of fun activities. In addition to the Playgroup Picnic and Movie in the Park, we are also planning a city-wide Moms Night Out for April as well as Pump It Up event and Family Zoo Day in May. Community Involvement Committee
The Community Involvement Committee is focusing on our Week of Service coming up in April. The week of April 21-28 was chosen since it coincides with Global Youth Service Day which is an international holiday focusing on the contributions of young people. By asking all of our playgroups and members to participate in service projects that week we can show the impact of Tucson Moms in the community and role model to our children community service. We hope everyone will participate!
We also hope that all of our families will join us at Ben’s Bells on April 22 from 10 am to 1 pm. This is a fun service project with which even the littlest children can help.
Finally, the Community Involvement Committee is in the process of setting up a charity drive in conjunction with our April Moms Night Out. We are looking for suggestions and volunteers. Joining the Community Involvement Committee really helps our members be involved in Tucson Moms while also helping others.
Outreach Committee
We have been busy spreading the word about Tucson Moms. Our biggest focus right now if putting out brochures in parent-friendly areas–pediatrician offices, OB/GYN offices, kids’ gyms, etc. If you are willing to help pass out brochures or have ideas for where they should be, please email us at tucsonmoms@yahoo.com. If you want to help share Tucson Moms with other moms looking for friendship and support, join the Outreach Committee.
Volunteer Positions
Come keep your job skills relevant, have fun, meet more moms, and get involved. Regardless of whether you’ve been a member for years or just joined recently, you have so much to offer. Whether you become a playgroup leader, help out occasionally on a committee, or take on a more regular role, you are helping Tucson Moms continue to thrive and grow!
