Northwest Playgroups

Prospective members are invited to attend two events of your choosing (playgroups and/or MNO) before deciding to join Tucson Moms so you can meet with a group or two and see if it's the right fit for you and your child(ren). If you'd like to take advantage of this "free trial" you will need to download the registration form and sign the liability agreement before participating at any Tucson Moms event. Please give the form to the leader of the playgroup at the first event you attend.

This group, for kids ages 1-3, meets every other Saturday for outings/playgroups that have included museums, parks, swimming, and playing at members’ homes. We also get together once a month for a Mom’s Night Out. We’d love to welcome some new moms and toddlers, and are always happy to receive suggestions of new places for the group to meet. This group is particularly convenient for working moms who are unable to attend the many playgroups that are available during the week – but we encourage all interested moms and toddlers to join us!

Thursdays Mornings

Our group has been meeting since September 2004 and we continue to have a great time making friends and enjoying a wide variety of fun play dates! The children in our group range from newborns to preschoolers and we even have some school-aged siblings who join us on outings during school breaks. We plan a monthly Mom's Night Out and sometimes we get together for Family Outings, too.

We meet throughout NW Tucson (Ina/Oracle over to I-10 in the Continental Ranch area). Most of the time we do outings but enjoy going to each other's homes as well. NW '04 has done a variety of activities, such as going to different parks, Gymboree, JW Tumbles, Music Together, Love2Sign, swimming and Musikgarten, etc. We have even had a few Family Events such as Buckelew Farms for pumpkin picking and Picture Rocks Miniature Horse Ranch for a family picnic. Our MNOs have consisted of going out to dinner and movies, playing Bunko, going to a comedy club, parties at members' homes. NW '04 has been a constant source of friendship, support, and fun for all of us beyond any of our expectations. We currently have 35 moms with approximately 15-20 attendees for most playgroups. We plan to keep the group open to any new moms of babies born in NW Tucson in 2004. We have several expectant moms (Summer/Fall '05) and plan on welcoming younger siblings into the group but still maintaining focus on events for our '04 babies.

Our group is geared towards moms who have 2 children (or more) but moms with just one are welcome too! The majority of the moms live on the NW side of town. We typically meet at 10 AM, but change that to an earlier time in the summer months to beat the heat. Our meeting places vary to get a good balance of unstructured playtime (at parks or someone's house) & exciting excursions as well as socialization for both kids & moms. Favorite excursions have been with animals - Picture Rocks Miniature Horse Ranch, the zoo, the U of A dairy farm & firestation tours are always a hit. Our MNOs have been casual dinners at a restaurant or someone's house for great grown-up conversation. On average, 10-12 moms attend playgroup each week. Come join us!

Tuesday Time Varies

NW '05 and Little Siblings is a playgroup that consist of babies born in 2005 and some new baby siblings. This group meets every Tuesday. The meeting times vary depending on the event, weather, and naps. We love to get out and enjoy the wonderful Tucson weather (except for in the summer when we are all trying to stay cool). We generally stay on the NW side of town meeting at parks, going to story time, JW Tumbles, Gymboree, gathering at one another's homes, swimming, and a variety of other activities. However, we also venture out once in awhile and see the rest of Tucson as most of us in our group are new to the area. We try to plan activities that accommodate all the babies and mommies. It varies but we usually have about 7 or 8 people attending week to week and we are always looking forward to meeting new moms and babies! This is a wonderful group that offers great support and friendship for both babies and mommies.

This group is new and seems to be growing fast. We have a range of ages from 5 years to 6 months and almost every age in between. Our favorite and only activity so far has been the park because it is easy and the kids love it. We welcome anyone in the NW Tucson and or Marana to come and join us.

NW '06 & Sibs is for little ones born in 2006 and their siblings. We enjoy going to story time, gathering at each others' homes and swimming pools, malls, and when it cools off going to the park. We also enjoy celebrating birthdays and holidays. Most of our play groups are close to the NW side of town, but we do venture out from time to time to explore Tucson, as many of us are new to the area. We also plan a monthly MNO and family events throughtout the year to include the hubbies. We are a friendly group of moms and are always happy to meet new moms and their little ones. The group meets on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. Come join us!

Most of the activities we take part in, will be located on the Northwest side and Oro Valley (parks, local play areas, people's houses, etc,) but we will also venture out and explore other parts of Tucson and surrounding areas. We are an active group planning fun activities around Tucson and Oro Valley as many of us are new to town and want to explore with our kids. We will also plan monthly Mom's Night Out activities like dinner, movies, spa nights, wine tasting, various classes, etc. where mom can get out and take a break from the little one. We are here to be an ear for your concerns, and an understanding environment for your child to socialize in. This playgroup is for kids of all ages, and their siblings. We are creating a friendly space for families to find other families in similar situations. You are not alone!
